If your a true DC resident, then of course you know about SILVERDOCS. But in case you don't, its pretty much the creme de la creme of film festivals on the East Coast, rivaling even Sundance. Showing 122 films, the festival showcases award winning documentary and independent films, some which even go on to win Academy Awards. This year's festivals include films such as More Than a Game, Afghan Star, and even the world premier of Nine Lives of Marion Barry - which is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Among all the great titles that are being featured during SILVERDOCS, none caught my notice or got me more excited than The September Issue. Directed by R.J. Cutler, the film is focused around fashion queen bee and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, and followers her and her loyal staff of "Andrea Sachs" around as they put together the largest issue of Vogue to date...the September Issue. Yes, the suspense is mind-boggling. If you want to catch the film in all its gloriousness, along with some of DC's most influential fashion mavens(which includes me), then head over to SILVERDOCS now to purchase online or make a quick trip to Silver Springs, MD to purchase your tickets in person.
