Collection Report | Masatomo Paris 2009 A/W

Its hard to explain adequately how Masatomo Paris took a classic item, a tradition menswear suit, and made it entirely their own - but I will try. With little else but a suit, Masatomo created a dark child's paradise for their A/W 2009 collection. Featuring slim silhouettes throughout with well tailored suits, they used a combination of interest - if not unusual - textures and fabrics that made for an interesting visual that we agree with. Added details such as zippers, metal studs, and pre-mature cuts helped to usher in trousers that equally compliment their above counterparts as they do the wearer. And with classic patterns done the right way on top of fabrics that are usually left out of the suit arena, an interesting, fun, and modern creation is made. Accessories include leather outerwear with fur collars and trim, bow ties, thin ties, boots, scarves, hats and gloves - all of which work together to create a "Bloody Valentine" look that is both dramatic yet realistically practical. In other words, the collection is perfection. More after the jump.
