Milan Fashion Week | Calvin Klein S/S 2010

Calvin Klein delivers with their reputable modern sophistication for Spring, which will come to the delight of Washingtonians as he provides boundary pushing garments that are also acceptable in every which way. With a colour palette that is unlike most, the collection gravitates from a colorless, black fade onto neutrals of tan and beige, then finally resting on an all in all colorful assembly of looks. Remaining constant in true Klein fashion, the collection features slim suits, shirts, trousers, and all of the usual of menswear. The tops this season are not to go without notice, their boxy shape and texture creates a transparent allusion that gives a soft touch to a masculine collection. With added sheer that we have seen on the runways lately, the collection marries a new found modernity with simple and casual looks to create pieces that are both conservative yet fashion forward. Jackets that provide transparency give a new found love for summer looks that otherwise would be repeats. You have to applaud Calvin Klein’s Creative Director Italo Zucchell for allowing the brand to remain synonymous with its look while playing with a fresh canvas that allows for creativity to balance wearability.
