Milan Fashion Week | Vivienne Westwood S/S 2010

When fashion collides with comedy, its often a disaster waiting to happen. That is, unless your Vivienne Westwood. This season, Westwood uses pirates as her comedic yet serious inspiration. Stripes - far and wide, horizontal and vertical - make continues appearances throughout the range in various forms, from bottoms to top. And leave it to Westwood to make a storm with pants that feature intentional misalignment that fit perfectly in the quirky and choatic collection. Overalls are crooked, colors are fun, and pieces are dramatic. Patterns array, the collection adds a sense of stability and reality when dissected individualy. They may not work well together, but alone, each piece is a work of art.
