Around the District | Fashion Swap

Its always a good thing when fashion can be used to benefit a good cause and help others. That is just what Fashion Fights Poverty is all about and with your help you can help them raise millions of dollars to save the lives of people all over the world. This Saturday Fashion Fights Poverty is hosting DC's first ever "fashion swap". Working to benefit DC's Covenant House, an organization that provides shelter and protection, food, clothing, counseling and job training to Washington, DC youth, the swap works very much like a consignment shop. You bring your old items - or new - to be consigned with Current Boutique. Current Boutique will consign quality items that can be resold. There is a time limit in which the clothes will be available for consignment, once the time limit is up, whatever articles of clothing that haven't been bought will be donated to DC's Covenant House. You can also choose to donate your consignment to Fashion Fights Poverty. Without a doubt, you will come out with at least one "new to you" item that is of quality and will last you for years. After all, nothing is better than vintage and quality. Great way to get some shopping in and help others. I will be there and I hope you will too. More information after the jump.
